Biography
Alexandre Wagner (b. 1986, Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil) studied visual arts at UFMG (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais) and graduated with a degree in painting in 2011. Currently based in São Paulo, Brazil, his solo exhibitions include: Pequenos formatos at Baró Galeria, São Paulo (2018); Água-Viva, Galeria Marilia Razuk, São Paulo (2021); Fagulha, Gate, New York (2022); and Aurora at Kutlesa, Switzerland (2023). He has also participated in several group exhibitions, such as 11 Abre Alas, Galeria A Gentil Carioca, Rio de Janeiro (2015); Oito Artistas, Galeria Mendes Wood DM, São Paulo (2016); Fresh Nature, Kutlesa, Switzerland (2023); Blue Hour, curated by Joan Tucker, Phillips, New York (2024); and Cirrus: On Landscape, curated by Jenn Ellis at NISO, London (2024).
Wagner work is held in important private and institutional collections including MAM – Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo, Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, IFF – Instituto Figueiredo Ferraz, and MAR – Museu de Arte do Rio de Janeiro.
